Dhaka International Film Festival 2021 to begin on January 16

The Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) 2021 will be held from January 16 to 24. The physical locations of the festival include Bangladesh National Museum, Central Public Library, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka and Star Cineplex. The event will also feature online film screenings. Those interested to watch the films online will have to register in advance. Dhaka Theatre: A legacy

One of the most illustrious theatre troupes in the capital, Dhaka Theatre was predominantly formed by young freedom fighters including prominent filmmaker, Nasir Uddin Yousuff, renowned playwright and theatre artiste Selim Al Deen. Established in July, 1973, the group started their journey by staging two plays later that year. The plays, Sangbad Cartoon and Samrat O Pratidwandigon, were showcased at the auditorium of Dhaka District Sports Association (Dhaka Jela Krira Samity). Sangbad Cartoon was written by Selim Al Deen, and directed by Nasir Uddin Yousuff. Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden to lead Amazon’s ‘Citadel’

Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden are set to headline Citadel, Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming thriller series for Amazon Studios. Chopra and Madden are the first cast members to come aboard, announced by Amazon Studios during their TCA Winter Tour panel on Tuesday in Pasadena. Amazon is calling Citadel a ‘global event multi-series’. Jonas and Madden will star in the US mothership edition of the series.
